Sansar is an area on the eastern side of Ulaanbaatar. It used to be a largely Soviet residence area. This is the Sansar "shopping center," although if you want to translate it more literally, it's the Sansar "service center." In 1993, it had a food store (see the photo in this section) and a restaurant, and a few other shops. There was a sign for a film theatre, but I'm not sure if it was still working at the time. Judging from the weather, and knowing when I was there in 1993, I'd say this was early spring.
