This is the remains of a monastery outside of Sainshand, in Dornogov' aimag. The two rows of pebbles with white flecks, in the foreground and behind the group, are all that are left of the foundations of the temple.
The man in the middle with the blue shirt and his arm extended was the curator of a museum in Sainshand, and the man who brought a cache of artifacts and books relating to Danzanravjaa out of hiding in the desert, where they had been stored for 60 or more years.
