Cows and garbage, 1993

I've read about places in Alaska and Canada where polar bears sometimes stroll into town and look through the garbage. I've heard of places in Africa where monkeys do the same. In Ulaanbaatar, we get cows. Or used to.

This is from 1993, and the cows are rummaging for food scraps. These days, with much more packaging, they'd probably be less successful. It probably doesn't matter much, as there is nowhere the amount of livestock in town that there used to be. (The government clamped down on bringing animals into town to graze, although they haven't eradicated the practice.)
