Winter festivities, December, 2003.

In certain circles in Ulaanbaatar, I am as well known - if not better known! - for my pizza as for being a researcher. People never e-mail and say "when are you coming back? We miss you." It's usually "When are you coming back? I miss your pizza."

This is not a pizza.

I was going to include a picture from one of the pizza dinners, but I don't seem to have any.

Along with pizza, I cook other things. And I decided to do a "winter festivities" (aka Christmas Party) in 2003. (I had done one in 2000 that went quite well.) So I made several different types of Christmas cookies, had chips, vegetables, dip, nuts, fruit, cheese, sausage, mulled wine, regular wine, port, and so on. Either the day of the party or the day before, about 15 people had confirmed they were coming. So I made sure there was enough food and drinks for all. In the end, only four people in addition to myself showed up. We still had fun, and I had leftovers for days and days.
