Everything else...
unsteamed steamed dumplings

Buuz (Mongolian steamed dumplings) not yet steamed, sitting on a stool in my kitchen, Ulaanbaatar, February 2001.

And yes, I made them all myself.

In some ways, I'm a bad academic. I actually have interests outside of my research. Hopefully it makes me a more interesting person, but who knows.

At any rate, this is the section devoted to stuff that's not related to academia or information on Mongolia. It will probably be one of the last to be fleshed out, because, while I do have outside interests, I'm not quite so narcissistic to assume they will fascinate everyone else.

And (perhaps more importantly) my publisher keeps sending e-mail asking about a book manuscript that should have been done last spring. Not to mention the various other publications and projects...

Eventually, however, it should include stuff on cooking, fencing, and who knows what else... So check back from time to time. If you are lucky, maybe you'll even learn the secrets to Chris's pizza, famous throughout Mongolia. Well, at least famous among academics, people in NGOs, and other such groups in Ulaanbaatar.

If you can't figure out why I chose this picture for this section, well, you'll just have to wait until I get around to filling in more details.
