Inside a gerr, Choir, 1993.

A shot taken from the bed on the east side of the ger. A bit blurry, perhaps, but I think this was taken while I was rather sick.

At any rate, it shows what the inside of a "real" working ger looks like. The stand to the right of the door functions as a sink, with the metal container above it holding water, and is refilled manually. The stove is just visible in the foreground, and on the left is the storage for cooking and other household items.

The space between the roof poles and the roof itself is often used for storage of small items - in particular things like rope, harnesses, etc. If you look closely, above the sink is what appears to be an engine gasket stored in such a manner.

Since this ger was more or less permanently located in one spot, the family had built a sort of entranceway / storage shed, which you can see through the open door. This particular ger was in a town, and therefore was wired for electricity. Others in the countryside aren't, but some people will have generators or solar cells to provide power.
