Assembling a ger, the early stages.

Gers are relatively quick to put up and take down. This one - although admittedly just the ger itself (no furniture, etc.) - was done in about 45 minutes. This photo and the next two illustrate the process of putting a ger up. (This particular one was assembled in a ger camp at Harhorin.)

The felt that will eventually cover the walls lies in the foreground. The door and its frame are to the left, and you can see one wall section (hana) expanded and more or less in place. The guy in the right foreground is untying another wall section. Five wall sections are used to make a standard sized ger.
