Gers in a camp, on the road to Harhorin, July, 2004.

The view from the back of a bunch of gers in a ger camp. The rolls of wood next to the ger in the foreground and a few others are usually wrapped around the bottom of the ger. They've been taken off here so the bottoms can be turned up.

The darker grey patch on the roof is the flap that cover the opening at the top of the ger. It's pulled back over when it storms, or you otherwise want to seal the ger better. The flap is technically called an örh, which is also as a term for a family or household. And, of course, that's a stove-pipe sticking up out of the middle.
