Hainag

Hainag

A hainag, which is a cross-breed between a yak and a cow. There are technically two types of hainags - sun and moon - depending on which parent is the cow and which is the yak. They are usually used as draft animals, and are - as you can see - bigger than their yak parents. This one was on the road between Ulaanbaatar and Terelj in the summer of 2005, with a herd of yaks.
